This week we will be talking about things that inspire us and working toward our inspirational speech. Find an appropriate and inspirational video, commercial, or speech and share a link in the comments. What makes it inspirational? What elements of the video inspire you? What elements of this video could you incorporate in your speech to make it more meaningful? Make sure you watch the entire video and that it is appropriate!
I couldn't choose one, they were both so powerful. The first is about a boy in poverty who can't afford his mother's medication and a business owner gives him vegetable soup and pays the other owner for the medication. Later when the man who helped the boy out is in debt and the boy who he helped in turn helps him, this story shows how just one small good deed can mean the world to the person receiving it. Although it was not a speech format they still picked a pretty powerful topic and presentation route that I think makes you feel a little warmer on the inside. The second video is of a small child who wrote a paper about her dad a great person who would give anything for her. During the video the music gets louder and louder to pull on a few heart strings and then when the music stops and goes soft after she says "he lies" it snaps those heart strings in half. These are both great examples of having a good topic to present on and how overall volume can make people emotional.

DeleteAlright I appreciate the idea of a common culture of people appreciating the majesty of progression. This idea of unity is announced within William Saffire's speech. It also take a lot of courage to take the chance to launch yourself into the unknown knowing that you may never come back. This process must have been the same when they first built ships and had people sail the lengths until they were out of sight and never heard again.

ReplyDeleteThis video is inspirational because it reminds me that life is beautiful. It uses pictures and bold words to create a vivid message. The entire message of this video is something that I can take away from this video. Simple overarching messages allows the theme to be well understood. If the message is too complicated, then people will not understand the theme.
